The bundling logic
Insulation top-ups, roof ventilation, velux installation, chimney repointing and new rainwater goods all need either scaffolding or an open roof. Doing them during the re-roof costs a fraction of doing them separately later, because the expensive part — access — is already paid for.
Insulate and ventilate together
Adding insulation without adding ventilation is how a dry attic becomes a damp one. Vented soffits at the eaves and a dry ridge or ridge vents at the top keep air moving through the cold space. Never let insulation be packed hard into the eaves — it blocks the airflow path entirely.
